Mayor Piercy's Response:
If you refuse to see that we are working on this issue for our community through deployment of additional officers, strategic intervention, more activities downtown, helping with development downtown, working with the DA and the Chief, working on areas of concern, targeting funds, etc. - then what is the point of continued conversation? You do not identify yourselves and you refuse to recognize any of the actions council or anyone else has taken. Sounds like campaign rhetoric, hyperbole and cheap shots to me... We on the other hand don’t just take cheap shots, we work on the issue with the council and community partners to address the issues. We are taxpayers and voters in Eugene. I now see no reason to continue to talk. Talk amongst yourselves.
